NYC Building Compliance Calendar 2026-2027: Deadlines

October 26, 2026•3 min read

NYC building owners juggle a dozen inspection and filing deadlines, each on its own cycle. Some are annual, some come every five years, and some depend on your community district. Miss one and you risk DOB violations and fines.

This calendar puts the major NYC building compliance deadlines in one place, so you can plan the year ahead instead of reacting to violations.

4 Tips to Stay Ahead of NYC Compliance Deadlines

  1. Book in the fall, not December. Year-end deadlines for parapets, gas piping, elevators and boilers all fall on December 31, so inspectors get booked up fast.

  2. Combine visits where you can. A FISP inspection that meets the parapet rule's requirements also counts as that year's parapet report.

  3. Keep every report in one place. The DOB can ask for parapet reports going back six years.

  4. Set reminders 90 days out. That leaves time to fix any problems an inspection finds before the deadline.

Start with Your Parapet Inspection

The December 31 parapet deadline is the next one due. Parapet Pros handles Local Law 126 parapet inspections and Local Law 11 façade work across NYC. Call 718-482-8341, email admin@parapetpros.com, or schedule online.

Deadlines current as of October 2026. Always confirm dates with the NYC DOB.
